Most GPS units have their own inbuilt planners or app-based navigation, but the information isn’t always specific to cycling because the units use Apple or Google as their base. We walk you three bike route navigation services that will help make your next ride great. You might find that adding or removing control points are necessary to help pin your route along the desired course.Ever planned a ride and it’s not quite worked out the way you’d hoped? Did you end up on a busy road or on a cycle path that was more like singletrack? Is it possible to plan a route, rock up and be confident that it will be perfect the first time? Open the route in the Route Planner, and drag your start and end points to the desired locations. To change the start point on a loop, open the route in the Route Planner and right click at the place you wish your new route to start.Zoom in closely to the point where two routes will meet to be certain you can click the green dot and not just place a new section on the first route.Ĭhange Start or End Point Loop or Out and Back.If you made a mistake when combining routes, click the UNDO button at the top of the right column.Newly created routes may take up to 30 minutes to by indexed and may not show up in the ADD ADDITIONAL ROUTE box until after the index is complete. The further away the two points are going to be the more automatic routing there will be to take place between them. Routes should end relatively close to where the next route starts.Make it easier to find each successive route by adding numerics such as "Grand Tour Day 01, Grand Tour Day 02" or "01 Astoria to Portland, 02 Portland to The Dalles".Click "Unnamed" to select the next route section, then repeat steps 6-8. Make sure to save all your routes- If you view a route before saving a new one then the other route will be lost.Important: c lick the X in the upper right hand corner of this message to return to the Route Planner and continue splitting. You'll se a dialog box appear, to confirm that you've successfully saved your first split route section.Route managers can also save the route to their clubs. You have options here to adjust the route's title, add a description, change the privacy level, or add it to an event. Click SAVE at the bottom of the dialog box to save your active route. If you're adding these to an event, they will sort in alphabetical order. Pro tip: names like "Day 01" or "GDMBR Leg 1" can help keep track of your sections. The active route is outlined in red, and inactive routes are grey. Instead, you'll find two "unnamed routes" here. You've split your route! Look to the upper left hand side of the Route Planner and you'll notice that the original route is no longer being edited. We recommend zooming in for better control on where the exact split happens. This can be on the route line, a control point, or on the elevation profile. Click along the route at the place you want to split it. ![]() ![]()
![]() ![]() ![]() For my part, I’m leaving for a State with ZERO income taxes to start a Family Office and as we go through the State’s dissolution process, at some point we will cancel our Business Centurion. Long story short, because of CA’s new regulatory powers passed in 2020 (mini Dodd-Frank), we’ve decided to unwind our firm and dissolve our operations by the end of this year. After all these long years, the time has arrived for me to make a similar determination. I recall having read a few threads where some Centurion card members after an evaluation determined the annual membership fee escalation had risen to a point have where it’s no longer justified and ended their long relationship (if I recall, sdix & seacharl – end of an era?). Ah, I may be one of those who may need to rely on insights on the application process! Not sure where to post this but I'll just do it here, if that's ok. ![]() Mr17Hz, I beg your pardon, but that is just not true. The software is the only product out there that considers BOTH manifesting and a RESERVATION system around tandems as a single solution, both online and run locally at the dropzone. If you want to turn this into more than just a hobby, I can also put you in touch with DZOs who have asked me for more but whome I have not been able to deliver a product at the desired price range, what are your specific ideas and what development platform are you looking to solve these problems with? How are you with objective C? I am considering a native iPhone application that jumpers can use to manifest themselves. If you *really* want to put time into a solution, I would be happy to work with you to identify needs that RealDropzone does not yet cover, and help to integrate the product with your new ideas. ![]() I think you'll have a hard time coming close to what I've put together at I just came back from an installation at Skydive Hawaii and I'm rolling out a new version at Skydive Chicago this week. Someone please correct me if I am wrong or being naive, but it seems that once a load has gone and you know what you are charging each person on the load, an accounting software package could do the job. For example, linking 4 team members together to manifest their 4-way team as a group is nice, but not used by most DZ's. There can be some complicated situations of course, but you could design for the "average" DZ without all of those possible situations. A manifestor needs a manifest program to help them juggle people and loads, but for invoicing, crediting, etc, DZ management needs an accounting program. (Disclaimer: I have used manifest programs only superficially, but have used Quickbooks for my business, and have found it to have everything a business should need, including files that can be sent to accountants with their satisfaction as the result.) It seems to me that trying to include all of the accounting functions in a manifest program is trying to re-invent the wheel, and may not give an accountant what they need in the long run. You might do some research on the currently available software packages to see if they are able to create files that can be imported into QuickBooks or Quicken, and import equivalent files. Stretching: MD-90 An MD-90-30 with airline Blue1 pictured in 2008 In 1983, McDonnell Douglas began studies on derivatives of the MD-80 series or the third generation of the DC-9 family, which later became known as the MD-90 series. A total of 1,191 MD-80 airliners were delivered from 1980 to 1999, making it the company's most successful airliner model. The MD-80 series has five variants or production versions, which are designated with a non-zero second digit similar to the DC-9 series, the MD-81, MD-82, MD-83, MD-87, and the MD-88. The aircraft series was originally designated as Series 80 or stylized as the Super 80, which was a 14 ft 3 in (4.34 m) lengthened Series 50 with a higher maximum take-off weight (MTOW) and higher fuel capacity, as well as next-generation Pratt and Whitney JT8D-200 series engines and an improved wing design. The MD-80 series, the first derivative or the second generation of the DC-9 family, entered service in 1980. The success prompted the manufacturer to further develop the first generation DC-9 family into its second generation. The aircraft series was an all-new design, using two rear fuselage-mounted turbofan engines, a T-tail configuration, and a narrow-body fuselage design with five-abreast seating for 80 to 135 passengers. The DC-9 series, the first generation of the DC-9 family with five members or variants (DC-9-10 / DC-9 Series 10, Series 20, Series 30, Series 40, and Series 50) and ten production versions (Series 11, Series 12, Series 14, Series 15, Series 21, Series 31, Series 32, Series 33, Series 34, Series 41, and Series 51), was a commercial success with 976 units built when production ended in 1982. ![]() It was involved in three hull-loss accidents with only one fatality being a fire related or non-aeronautical accident. Production ended in 2000 after 116 deliveries. The shrunken derivative of MD-80 or shorter variant of MD-90, originally marketed as MD-95, was later renamed the Boeing 717 following McDonnell Douglas' merger with Boeing in 1997. It kept the MD-88's electronic flight instrument system (EFIS). Its 5 ft (1.4 m) longer fuselage seats 153 passengers in a mixed configuration over up to 2,455 nmi (4,547 km), making it the largest member of the DC-9 family. The MD-90 competed with the Airbus A320ceo family and the Boeing 737 Next Generation. The MD-90 first flew on February 22, 1993, and the first delivery was in February 1995 to Delta. Hollington Drive and The Last Kingdom's Peter McDonald has taken over the role of vampire Baldwin (Trystan Gravelle, who previously played the part, had to pull out due to scheduling conflicts), and if the season three trailer is anything to go by, his character is going to be having quite a tough time of things. When celebrity animal experts bring a big cat or other exotic animal on TV, they often say they're associated with an accredited zoo or animal sanctuary.īut Harrison notes in the documentary that, despite having connections with almost all the zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), he's never seen a single ambassador cat show up at one of the accredited facilities. Tim Harrison connects the dots between celebrity animal experts and roadside zoos and backyard breeders of endangered species. "A regular person can just buy themselves an endangered species and walk out of there without any paperwork whatsoever." "You walk through this big mass crowd of people, and all sudden, you see carts filled with these cages: big cats, bear cubs, primates," recalls Harrison in the documentary. In The Conservation Game, Harrison visits an exotic animal auction in Ohio, equipped with a hidden camera. The absolute worst were these exotic animal auctions." Uncovering the truth about celebrity conservationists We had backyard breeders, we had the roadside zoos. "And, on the other hand, you had a seedy underbelly. "You had the celebrity conservationists, they come on TV and they've got their endangered species, their ambassador animals," says Harrison. Harrison began to wonder if there was a link between the celebrity conservationists and the exotic animals in people's homes. "I asked them, 'Why did you bring this tiger into your home?' 'I watched it on Animal Planet.'" "All of a sudden, I get a call from a local police department," says Harrison in the documentary, "somebody a tiger in their basement." Exotic and dangerous animals were turning up in people's homes and backyards, he recalls. Late-night hosts would regularly ask where the animals lived, where their parents lived or where they'd go after their TV appearances, and the conservationists might reference "a sanctuary there in Pennsylvania" or "a nice little zoo somewhere." These "ambassador animals," which often represented endangered species, were said to be there to educate the audience. Where do the cats go? / Watching two worlds collideįor a long time, many late-night talk shows had their own "animal guy" - a conservationist who would bring exotic animals onto the studio stage for light-hearted entertainment. In The Conservation Game, a documentary presented by The Passionate Eye, Harrison, who's a retired police officer and director of the non-profit Outreach for Animals, goes on a mission to find out what's happened to some of the entertainment industry's favourite cats. After those lions, tigers and jaguars had their moments in the spotlight, they would disappear. But as he grew older, Harrison noticed a problem with the animal experts he idolized.
